Mayoral is a multinational company with operations in 15 countries, selling 30 million garments a year in 102 markets.
Bettergy has started from the Energy Analysis of all the almost 150 stores throughout Spain, Mayoral has managed to reduce not only its energy expenditure, but also the emission of carbon dioxide into the environment.
It is the sixth largest group in the Spanish textile fashion sector, with an expected turnover of 360 million euros in 2017 and is stepping on the accelerator to expand with new stores and points of sale.
At this point for Mayoral, professional energy cost management is key.
Energy Analysis: Data analysis and energy savings.
The starting point of our work is the analysis of all stores with a significant geographical dispersion, with the consequent difficulty. We solve this problem with an analytical approach based on segmentation and selection of profile types.
From these profiles corresponding to different types of stores, we selected those stores with the greatest savings potential, and worked in more depth on these stores.
In addition, the selection of indicators and a comparative or benchmarking analysis were completed, which allows the client to know the best standards of behavior in its portfolio.
This initial analysis has led to the implementation of improvement measures and specialized monitoring, using Bettergy’s energy analysis platform, EnergySequence.
The energy model of the stores was identified based on the analysis of energy consumption data and simulations, and operational and investment savings measures were identified that could be replicated in the rest of the group’s stores.
Comprehensive energy management and implementation of improvement measures.
The activities specifically included as Integral Energy Manager within the Energy Manager 360 program were the following:
- Advice on energy purchase & PPA , with advanced energy purchase models.
- Energy management through the EnergySequence platform, continuously monitoring energy consumption.
- General advice on Energy Efficiency, Regulatory Monitoring and Energy Efficiency Grants.
- Advanced energy studies related to any aspect of Mayoral’s activity and identification of energy improvement measures.
IMPROVEMENT OF FACILITIES
As a result of this work, the measures implemented after Bettergy’s basic engineering study are the installation of equipment and the implementation of necessary improvements.
A regulatory and legal analysis is also carried out to identify the regulatory framework applicable to the project and the authorization and/or licensing requirements applicable to the project.
In the global results, proposals for improvement are identified for 32.74% of Mayoral’s total consumption, which represents a potential economic saving of 194,233 €.
Reducing energy consumption not only translates into economic savings but also into a reduction of harmful carbon dioxide emissions into the environment, which contributes substantially to the conservation of the environment and to improving Mayoral’s social and corporate image.
Bettergy also performs a detailed analysis of possible grants, subsidies or any other type of public or private financial support that the project or the proposed measures may be eligible for.
