Certificates and installation projects

We are experts in savings certificates, CO2 emissions and energy rating.
In addition, we have been developing complex installation projects in the energy field for years.

Our day-to-day life is based on going from one building to another, be it our own residences, our places of work or study, or the places where we carry out our leisure activities.
Each of them has an environmental impact both on the planet and on ourselves, of which we are not aware.

For these and other reasons, Bettergy faces the challenge of fighting to build buildings that improve both our comfort and quality of life, as well as that of our surroundings, achieving the highest energy rating in all its projects.

In Europe, the building sector is the number one energy consumer, followed by industry and transport, which is why it is the cause of producing the greatest amount of CO2, one of the so-called “greenhouse gases”, having an impact on environment.

Energy efficiency consists of achieving the reduction of the building’s energy consumption, increasing comfort and quality of life, and constantly protecting the environment by promoting the sustainability of the energy supply; all of this leading to notable economic savings and greater comfort and health in homes.

The crisis in the sector, together with the new regulations and increasing awareness, is allowing the promotion of energy saving, making it essential when both building and acquiring a new home.

The mandatory technical regulations are becoming stricter on energy efficiency issues.

Buildings must reduce their energy consumption for the global good and for the considerable savings they represent to the end user.

That is why the figure of the building’s energy certificate has been implemented (which classifies it from A to G based on its energy efficiency, with A being the best) and established as a goal that from 2020 all new homes construction are of ‘almost’ zero consumption.

But what does it mean that my building is rated A?
For several years, at Bettergy, we have designed and built our buildings with the best possible rating, taking into account the following considerations:

1. REDUCTION OF THE ENERGY DEMAND OF BUILDINGS

With a correct treatment of passive measures in the outer envelope of the building (facades, roofs, floors, thermal bridges) energy savings of up to 50% can be achieved compared to traditional construction, reducing gas emissions associated with the greenhouse effect.

Of all the energy necessary for the operation of our buildings, 45% is associated with air conditioning (heating and air conditioning), a value that can be reduced by up to 90% using sufficiently proven energy efficiency techniques, and which Morph Estudio encourages your application.

The most efficient and economical way to achieve this is by betting on a correct treatment of the building envelope since it is through the ‘skin’ of the building where the greatest energy losses occur.

  • Well insulated enclosure: Very high resistance insulation is the most effective solution since with a minimum investment it makes it possible to make profitable energy savings throughout the entire useful life of the building.
  • Elimination of thermal bridges: treatment of special points such as window and door frames, capialzados, blind drawers, guaranteeing a good seal of the building.
  • Efficiency of the gaps: Double or triple glasses of different thicknesses, low emissivity depending on the orientations, high-efficiency carpentry with thermal break, being as recyclable as possible, guaranteeing the minimum environmental impact.

2. INCREASE IN THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF THE FACILITIES

The thermal installations of a building are a great source of consumption.

Once the thermal envelope has been improved to minimize heat losses, emphasis should be placed on the effectiveness of the installation systems to increase their energy efficiency:

  • Low temperature heat distribution.
  • Centralized high-performance condensing boilers combined with low-temperature underfloor heating.
  • Controlled ventilation with heat recovery.
  • LED lighting.
  • Sanitary water flow reduction.

3. IMPLEMENTATION OF RENEWABLE ENERGIES

The importance of reducing the consumption of fossil energy sources such as diesel or gas (traditionally used in the residential sector) lies in its polluting power.

Therefore, their use should be reduced to the maximum with the incorporation of auxiliary production systems using renewable energies.

4. SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION: ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL

In addition to energy considerations, other environmental, social and economic aspects must be taken into account.

They are not linked to the concepts of energy efficiency but have an ecological and sustainability character that allow adding value to residential buildings, combining quality and long-term efficiency at an affordable cost.

Currently, Bettergy is working to construct buildings with the principles of international environmental standards such as Leed and Breeam, within the costs and means provided by the construction market in Spain.
